Science Big Books
In Science we use a ‘Big Book’ approach to recording our learning.
The main purpose of creating big books in Science is to record the children’s progress, ensure there is good coverage of our curriculum and gather evidence whilst maintaining fun, practical and interesting lessons where the children can think scientifically rather than spending most lessons writing information in books.
The children may still have their own books or files depending on the class teacher’s preference, but most of the Science evidence will be in the big books. Evidence includes: samples of work, photographs, post-it notes with information/observations and assessment sheets.
