Welcome to Year 4!
Welcome back from half term, I hope you all had an enjoyable week off. This half term we are going to continue to explore the exciting topic of Ancient Greece. It is such a large topic and we have barely scratched the surface of it! This half term we will be looking at how the Ancient Greek empire developed, how democracy was created in Athens, as well as some key battles such as the battle of Marathon and how the Olympics began in Ancient Greece!
On the 27th and 28th of March we have our performances of Under the Sea! The children will be working really hard on rehearsals this half term which I have no doubt will lead to a fantastic performance!
Our PE day is Friday this half term. We are going to be focusing on ball skills this term. We will be going outside as much as possible this term so please ensure your child has some suitable trousers and a long sleeved jacket.
In Year 4 the children go swimming on a Tuesday, we walk them down to Kirkstall swimming baths. On this day please ensure that the children come with a full swimming kit, including a towel. Goggles can be brought along but they are not necessary.
Mrs Bailey will still be teaching French and R.E on a Wednesday afternoon.
