Pancake Day!

We decorated some pancakes today with raspberry jam or lemon and sugar and learnt about pancake traditions across the world.

Sea Creature Art 14/3/19

The children decided they would like to use paper plates to create some sea creatures and they also wanted to use different media to create an underwater picture. They made some excellent crabs and ocean pictures. Take a look!

Trip to Skipton Castle 14/2/19

We had an amazing time exploring Skipton castle. It was so much fun seeing where lady Anne used to live and learning about the kitchen and the long drop! Castles really were smelly places. The children, as usual were a credit to our school and we were so proud of everyone of them!

Artwork inspired by Paul Klee January 2019

We looked at Paul Klee's picture of a castle and used shapes to create our own versions. We then used water colour paints to make them bright ike his.

Making Superhero Puppets

In D.T. We designed and made superhero puppets using needle and thread to sew them together. We then added detail by drawing and cutting out felt capes, masks and other accessories and then gluing them to our puppets.

Performing poetry

We read and practised performing the poem 'If I was a Superhero'. We worked in pairs to draw a story map and then act a verse out to the class.

Firework Art 7/11/18

We created a city scene at night and then used pastels and glitter to create fireworks. They results are fantastic!

Art Week 24/9/18

We looked at printing in Year 2 with the theme of nature. The children created lots of wonderful pictures including Autumn trees, Sea creatures and handprint animals. Take a look at them in action!

Science

We investigated which materials would be good to protect our 'Eggonaut'. We had lots of fun working as a team. Take a look at some pictures.

Performing space poetry 10/09/18

In Year 2 we have been looking at the poem 'Alien's Stole My Underpants'. The children worked in partners to choose their favourite verse and then they took it in turns to read and act the verse out in front of an audience.
