How to become a Governor
Our Governing Body is made up of representatives of St Stephen's Church, the Local Authority, Staff and Parents. Governors come from all walks of life and have a variety of business, education and commercial experiences and skills.
If you would like to know more about becoming a school governor and what the role involves please speak to the Headteacher who will give you further information and advise you on what to do next.
Governor Vacancies
We currently have vacancies on our Governing Body for:
Parent Governor - Due to internal reorganization, the Governing Body are looking for 1 parent governor to join them. Please see the attached letter giving details, and should you be interested and eligible, please contact Mrs Skelton, Mr Sheppard or any member of our current governing body for further information.
Foundation Governors. Interested parties should contact the Head Teacher, Mr Sheppard in school, or Reverend Stephen Kaye at St Stephen's Church.
Governing bodies of Church of England schools and foundation governors in particular, have a special responsibility for ensuring that the Christian character of the school is secured and developed and that the school is run in accordance with its trust deed and the ethos statement which appears on its Instrument of Government.
